Our Story Begins
In 2022, after the pandemic, we were looking for an idea to do good in this world. Our motto has always been:
Make the world better than when you stepped into it
We combined two things we loved, baking and gaming, into a chance to do something that could do some good and help. Focusing on gaming, something we had been doing our whole lives, we decided to leverage some of our other passions. Growing up with a New Jersey Italian mother, I learned at a young age how to cook. My mother told me, "If you ever find a woman patient enough to marry you, you better cook for her," before teaching me to cook. In our family, food meant love, and the greatest way to show you care was to cook for someone, which sparked my love of cooking. The mage took a different but just as delicious journey to master her culinary arts due to her love of science and formulas. About 10 years ago, our mage found that while she loved baking for others, she couldn't enjoy the treats because she was vegan and gluten-free. So she set out to study the sometimes forbidden magic of cooking without animal byproducts and wheat. And our Tiefling, well, she just enjoyed eating the food before causing havoc somewhere.
We started off with our 3 classic bread loaves. The first one is a classic white bread that can be used for pretty much anything. The second was an everything bagel loaf that reminded me of growing up in Jersey and walking from my mother's salon to the bagel shop next door. Our 3rd was a request from a wonderful store owner in Lowe Mill, a loaf with rosemary and a butter flavor. Our mage, Allison, started with some donuts that she had perfected making for the family every few weeks as a treat. She experimented with some flavors before settling on the cinnamon sugar as our main flavor. She has branched out to some other flavors like maple pumpkin and chocolate, continuing to test out new flavors.
Once we got some of the food under our belt (and in our bellies) we thought about how we could bring the community together to play more games. Though my time playing Dungeons and Dragons, I have met people of all walks of life, and I thought what a great way to get people of different cultures and lifestyles to sit at a table together. We decided to focus our bakery on DnD but to include all gaming wherever possible. We started working with some distributors and getting dice, accessories, pins, and gaming gear to resell with a small profit. We then used that profit to help fund a charity we had worked with before called Extra Life. All our profit goes through the charity to help fund Children's of Alabama, a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to serving all Alabama children.
In our first few years, we focused exclusively on selling at the outdoor market at Lowe Mill each Saturday during the summer. We met so many amazing people and can't say thank you enough for supporting us. Recently, we got in touch with heroes helping support our local women's and children's hospital here in Huntsville and have worked with the community to get new consoles for the children to play on while waiting for medical care. We have started to branch out to local events and fairs, and even started working with local stores to carry our dice. Huntsville has some amazing gaming stores to visit.
This will be our 4th year, and we look forward to meeting more amazing people, hearing your stories, rolling dice with you, and feeding you.
Can you read this? Yes, the bard is not as clever as he thinks. He thinks he has defeated me, but as long as my phylactery exists I can come back. Will you help me find it? I am hiding so he doesn't know about me. Find my phylactery, it was an eye with a multitude of other eyes inside it. Find it, help me and I will give you riches.
To help provide funding and support to local children's medical facilities.
Our Quests
To engage our community to come together and support each other through gaming.
The Charity
Each year all of our profits go to Extra-Life, a fund raising program for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Extra life was started back in 2008 when a young girl was diagnosed with Leukemia and gamers around the world came together to get her and other kids games while they stayed at the hospital. As of 2024 it has raised over 140 million for Children's hospitals. All the profit that we earn is sent to Children's of AL.
